Heather Staples is a human resources professional who specializes in the transformative realm of positive organizational behavior. With an impressive career spanning over 18 years, Dr. Staples has harnessed her expertise across a diverse range of industries, including retail, banking, hospitality, manufacturing, sports, biotechnology, and healthcare. Her professional credentials include the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute 9HRCI) and the SHRM-SCP certification from the Society of Human Resources Management.

Dr. Staples' academic journey reflects her unwavering commitment to excellence. She laid the foundation for her career with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. Subsequently, she pursued a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources, from Saint Mary's University. Her dedication to mastering the intricacies of human behavior is evident through her Education Specialist degree, marked by extensive graduate coursework in Psychology. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a desire to make a meaningful impact, she earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Education, focusing on Organizational Leadership, from the University of the Incarnate Word.

Currently, Dr. Staples serves as an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where she imparts knowledge in a diverse curriculum encompassing human resources, compensation strategies, leadership, team dynamics, conflict resolution, and negotiations. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she holds the pivotal role of Director of Academic Assessment. Beyond academia, Dr. Staples extends her expertise as a leadership coach, offering guidance to selected organizations within the San Antonio community.
