"Extinguishing Burnout with Compassion"
Besides being a catchy headline, “The Great Resignation” points to a problem that is worthy of the time and attention of business leaders and owners around the country as burnout, frustration and dissatisfaction cause record numbers of employees to say “enough!".
The response has been a scramble of new recruitment strategies, incentive programs, salary increases, pizza parties and an overall feeling of helplessness as budgets tighten and employee satisfaction continues to drop.
This leads to a crisis culture- where employees feel like they are putting out nonstop dumpster fires and arrive at work for the day already at a simmer, and it doesn't take much to get from that state to a boil.
There becomes competition for resources and in-groups shrink as more out-groups develop.
The result of burnout, overwhelm and stress, is a loss of connection. Connection to one's purpose and to others. And when that "why" is lost, efficiency, efficacy and motivation suffer. The dehumanization of the workplace has resulted in people feeling unvalued, unseen and expendable, and with the mental health crisis growing- this has devastating consequences.
So where do we start? We start with small, simple, sustainable and impactful changes to rebuild connection.
Join us as we learn the 3-step framework (OAR) that not only provides the tools and skills to create change in the workplace culture but will change the way one sees the world. Creating a habit of kindness and compassion changes how one goes through their day.
And creating culture of compassion changes everything. Because when there is connection, there is trust. And trust is key to moving forward, because without it, no one will follow.
Leadership is a lifestyle, not a job title, and this talk empowers everyone to do their part as a leader to make a positive impact not only in their own lives, but in the lives of everyone around them.
