DEI Workshop
Time: 1:15 - 2:15 PM

Approved for 1 hour of HRCI & SHRM business recertification credit.

This workshop will dive into the following topics:

Effective Employee Resource Groups: We will review the functions of an ERG and how ERG’s provide under-represented employees with an opportunity to discuss challenges they face unique to their identity within a company environment.  We will share details on how to establish good communication and open lines of communication that become best practice for ERGs in meeting their goals, as well as the goals of the company.  Learn the importance of obtaining Executive sponsorship and Executive engagement in establishing and maintaining ERG’s while developing achievable SMART goals for ERG’s by using metrics, i.e. recruiting metrics, development metrics and retention metrics.

How inclusive is your hiring process - Recruitment to Onboarding: Break the cycle! It’s time to bring a new lens to old challenges. In this session, we will discuss tools to equip you in assessing the inclusivity of your hiring cycle, beginning with your recruitment efforts, the interview process, and ending with first steps to take in establishing new onboarding practices and procedures. There is no box to check, but barriers to break!

Understanding Unconscious Bias:  This topic is for human resources professionals and business leaders interested in practical, proven tools and methods for enacting change in the promotion of DEI within their organizations. Recognizing the business imperative for mitigating unconscious bias, this session will help participants create actionable strategies and offer guidance to lead and manage DEI initiatives.  The participants will also gain the awareness and sensitivity to remove structural and social barriers while avoiding conduct that gives the appearance of partiality.
