Title: Safety Committee Development / Operational Considerations for Returning to Work

Description:

In this session, we’ll discuss the importance of safety committee development and maintenance; we’ll also cover the impact of a healthy safety committee on an organization’s overall safety culture.  The main points of discussion will be the purpose, responsibilities, and functions of the committee.  Following that, we will go over some important considerations for bringing people back to the workplace after covid-19. 

Learning Objectives:
1. Develop and maintain a functioning safety committee.

2. How to champion the safety committee and encourage participation.

3. Come away with some practical knowledge for returning to work from a risk management perspective.

About Darren:

Prior to moving from Arizona to Texas and becoming a part of the Catto & Catto team, Darren held various risk management roles in multiple industries including aviation, ground transportation, restaurants, and hospitality. Darren has developed a unique versatility throughout his career; his formal training includes an ergonomic assessment specialist certification, OSHA 511 and 501, master defensive driving instructor, DOT Hazmat, and others. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Communication from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. Darren is working toward his Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation. Before his involvement in safety, Darren worked as a certified personal trainer for fifteen years and continues to help friends and family with their fitness goals.
