After 20 years serving in the United States Air Force as a JAG Officer, Chad Jespersen retired in July of 2021. Early in his military career Chad provided legal advice and support to Airmen and their families in matters such as legal assistance and property claims. He progressed to representing the government in military trials in the courtroom and advanced to supervising numerous Air Force legal offices as they prosecuted cases. Later in his career, Chad provided ethics and personnel guidance to senior officers, provided on-site legal support to Aircraft Accident Investigations, and concluded his career advocating for Airman being medically retired before the Air Force Medical Evaluation Board as well as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He has deployed three times and has served as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate, Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, Deputy Chief, and Staff Judge Advocate. Chad holds an undergraduate business degree with a concentration in HR from Western Washington University, a Master of Arts in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University, as well as a law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law.
Approaching the end of his Air Force legal career Chad had a deep desire to return to the private sector and support business in the HR field by leveraging his education and experience to advance HR competency and support in the Human Resource arena. In early 2021 Chad participated in a Department of Defense sponsored “Hiring Our Hero’s” Fellowship with Unisys, a global IT solutions company of over 16,000 associates. At the conclusion of his Fellowship Chad was hired into the HR department where he provides HR support in M&A, Data Privacy, Enterprise Risk Management, and Ethics and Employee Relations investigations. Chad volunteers as a coach to FourBlock, a national veteran’s transition service, and is an active member of the Alamo Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America. Chad and his wife have been married over 27 years and have two teenage daughters.
