Rhonda Michel relocated in June 2000 to San Antonio from Charlottesville, VA where she served on the board of that local SHRM chapter. Rhonda immediately got involved with SAHRMA and joined the Professional Development committee where she eventually became VP, Programs. Rhonda led the first ever Symposium event in 2003, held at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center. She moved on to serve the Board of Directors in multiple roles including HR Certification Chair, Treasurer, PR/Marketing Director and eventually President-Elect. She served as the chapter President in 2015 and earned Platinum status for the chapter, as well as a Pinnacle Award for the Transitioning Warrior Workshop program. Since that time she has continued to volunteer in various committees and support the chapter. Most recently she returned as Past President when the position was left vacant in 2017, and then stepped-in to direct the 2018 South Texas HR Symposium. Rhonda received her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from James Madison University in Virginia, and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. She is nationally certified as both SHRM-SCP and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
