About HCA
 

The HCA was formed in 2008 to help with the future needs of our workforce. There is concern that the United States is falling behind global competition in preparing people for jobs of the future.

  • A rapidly changing global business environment is creating demand for a highly skilled workforce.
  • Overarching concern that the future U.S. Workforce is not prepared for more intense global competition.
  • The mismatch of business needs and available skills could lead to significant challenges in managing future workforce.
This group is tasked with being able to enhance the future economic growth for the San Antonio and Alamo Region to assist in providing an increasingly skilled, educated and ready workforce.
